First Time Buyers
As a first time buyer, the daunting task of making your biggest purchase in your life can be stressful and intimidating. As a real estate professional who has worked with many first time buyers, here are some tips to get you started.
Be Definitive about Buying
When you have made the conscious decision to purchase a home, think about when you want to be settled in your new home, the type of home you would like (condominium, townhouse, etc.)
Get Qualified for a Mortgage
This is an important step which is technically the first step after you decided you’re ready to buy. Getting qualified, or “pre-qualified” by a lender will let you know how much you can afford before going through the motions of finding a home you may not be able to afford.
If you don’t know what to look for, or where to start, I can help you with various lending options. My job is to help you get the right team in place and make your first time buying real estate a fantastic experience.
Be Informed
Many first time buyers are unaware of the process that lies ahead of them and unknowingly will venture out into the market on their own. If you are new to the process, take the time to hire an expert and have a dedicated Realtor in place. A Real Estate Sales Representative will guide you through the process and the best part about this is it’s FREE! Buyers don’t have to pay an agent a fee, the Seller does.
Know What Your Hidden Costs Are
When buying a property, you must be aware of certain closing costs. This is what I cover with all first time buyers at the first meeting so they are aware what their expenses are even before looking at potential homes.

Making an Offer
There is no rule as to what you should offer. Work with your Realtor and look at past sale comparables and listen to their advice. Choosing the right Realtor will help you in the long run, and may also get you a great deal. A strong negotiator, someone who thrives on getting you the best price for your home is crucial to any transaction.
